Tour de Wangedigala

Adventerous expedition taken place in a scenic mountain named 'Wangedigala' in kalupahana in Badulla district, Uva province.
Our travelling crew with 8 boys started our journey from Colombo and travelled to Badulla by night mail train and got there by 5 in the morning. and then travelled to kalupahana junction by bus.Then went through the village for about 3 km to get to the point where it was a stream with a scenic view and of course freezing cold water.

After having a bath there we started our trek through a small forest and got in to a huge pine forest. And the leeches sure made it interesting. There was a lot of climbing and

Then after a straight hike of 6 kms, which took about 4 hours, we made it to the top and the work done was so worth after seeing the view from the top.

Then we set up camp on the top and the first few hours were a bit hard because of the rain. After the heavy clouds washed away the view was mind blowing.

We were not the only people to set up camp that day. There were a few other hikers. All other facts aside there were something pretty much usual with us sri lankans up there, destroying the beauty of the whole thing. That was putting left overs before leaving the camping site. Alot of them were liquor bottles. There were a little spring to get water too.

We BBQed some meat and had our dinner. It sure was an exiting night.
The next day morning we started our way back early in the morning. But it didn't go as we expected and we got lost in the middle of the woods. However we climbed down clearing the bushes and it was one hell of an experience.
Wangedigala sure is one of the must visit places in sri lanka.
